Fall Open Enrollment Begins July 1, 2025
We are pleased to offer Northern Illinois students and their families insurance plans provided by Delta Dental of Illinois, Chubb Insurance and Teladoc. You are not required to participate in the Northern Illinois University Student Health Insurance Plan to enroll.
Open Enrollment Periods
- Fall: July 1 – October 31, 2025 (plan effective date August 1)
- Spring: January 8 – March 31, 2026 (plan effective date February 1)
- 6-month plans only

- Individual Insurance through the healthcare.gov. Open Enrollment is November 1 – January 15. You may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to enroll outside of this window.
